This is not your normal consultancy role, this Lead DevOps Engineer will create the machine that allows their clients access to their solutions via the platform. As a large consultancy with 1000 employees, this role is part of a new team created to incorporate their new acquisition which is a smaller consultancy of only 40 employees but had a more effective platform. So this your opportunity to migrate AWS between regions as the acquisition company is based In Europe and also build out the infrastructure to deliver a universal platform that represents the new digital transformation of the company.

The lead DevOps engineer will be the orchestrater of this project and steer the design and work of the next generation and digital transformation programme. They want an engineer who is excited and passionate about their role in delivering world class solutions. You will be the lead in the scrum team of and reporting directly to the CTO.

The Lead DevOps Engineer will be responsible for assisting the product teams deliver features that improve the way their customers track their skills providing a way to measure the success from training. You would also be responsible for supporting all environments and engineers, including automation of patches, performance improvements and reliability.

Role:

  • Responsible for the UK AWS Cloud Environment (migration between regions)
  • Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery Pipelines and Deployment solutions
  • Create new infrastructure (new universal platform that allows incorporates their old platform and their new acquisitions).
  • Configuration management tools, code and modules for implementation
  • Development of continuous monitoring of Infrastructure

Essential Skills:

  • AWS
  • Infrastructure as code (Terraform or Cloudformation)
  • CI/CD Jenkins
  • Enjoy designing, building scalable and robust platforms
  • Containerisation
  • Agile Environment

Nice but not Essential:

  • Kubernetes
  • Understanding of PostgreSQL
  • Been a lead previously
  • Python
