Data Migration Engineer | SQL, C# | Manchester (Remote)

Our client has developed their own cloud-based eCommerce software product utilised within the entertainment/leisure sector. They are the leaders in their field and are going through a period of global and new market expansion. Their platform transfers £millions through its platform on a weekly basis.

As a Data Migration Engineer you will need to understand new/foreign data and use your problem-solving skills to work out how to transform the data into our client's core format. You will be taking ownership of existing tools, as well as building from scratch when we come across systems we've never migrated from before.

You will be joining a Manchester (remote at the moment) based team of over 60 employees, based across London, Manchester and New York offices working with over 250 clients within the entertainment sector around the UK and in North America.

Skills Required:

• SQL and strong relational database understanding
• Proven ability to quickly learn new systems and tools
• Experience performance tuning SQL Server databases and troubleshooting issues
• A systematic and analytical approach to problem solving and lateral thinking

Desirable skills:

• A basic understanding of C# or VB.Net, SSIS, SSAS and SSRS
• Scripting and automation experience, preferably PowerShell.
• Experience in Azure DevOps / Bamboo
• Experience in SaaS environments.

Duties role:

• Extracting data from new customer's varying software applications/systems into the centralised, core software SaaS platform
• Ability to be adaptable to move data out of often old/legacy systems and into our client's ecosystem - a true problem solver!
• Maintaining the SQL Server infrastructure hosting over 250 client systems
• DBA and some Operation support

You will joining a team of database specialists working within our client's Operations Team - an innovative and dedicated team of DevOps engineers from a wide variety of backgrounds. You'll be helping to ensure that databases remain secure, highly available and high performing - and that any issues are resolved as quickly as possible.
