Trainee Marketing Assistant

We have a great opportunity here at Prism Digital for a Trainee Marketing Assistant to join our growing team in Central London as part of the Government's Kickstart Scheme. As a budding junior marketeer, you will have the opportunity to immediately be involved in core elements of Prism's marketing function - helping build the company's brand, providing key market insight, and contributing to overall business development.

As this is a Kickstart placement, you will need to be between the ages of 16 and 23, currently on Universal Credit (or in the process of going on to Universal Credit), and meet the eligibility criteria set out by the UK Government for the Kickstart Scheme.

About Us:

Prism Digital is a niche IT Recruitment Consultancy specialising in the DevOps and Cloud industry. We pride ourselves on being experts in our market and offering a consultative approach to our clients, whilst taking a genuine interest in the industries we help hire into. As a team of about half a dozen employees, we are a close-knit bunch with a start-up mentality. Over the next 18 months, we are looking to double our headcount and cement ourselves as *the* leading DevOps talent partner. It's set to be an exciting and very rewarding journey!

What Makes us Different?

  • We're passionate about collaborating in the market. Co-organise two London meetup groups (London DevOps & WinOps) and an annual conference (WinOps Conf). Work frequently with industry experts to produce content for our blog site, 'The Thought Lab'
  • We are niche specialists. Our focus market is DevOps Engineering - one of the most in-demand tech jobs in the world
  • We invest a lot of time and money into marketing our brand so that our consultants' jobs are made easier
  • We are always open to new ideas - no suggestion is too whacky, if you think it's a cool idea, we want to hear it!

About the Role:

As a Trainee Marketing Assistant, you will have the opportunity to work across a diverse range of operations that all contribute to overall business development. You will gain fundamental experience in developing and managing a brand, conducting market research that will be actioned on, and learn how to use key business tools such as a CRM and an email marketing platform. The skills you will gain as part of this position will provide you with a fantastic basis for a wide variety of careers in marketing and operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Working with our CRM Manager & Founder to develop marketing strategies
  • Managing Prism's main social media channels - creating and uploading regular content
  • Assisting with keeping our database up to date with sales leads and information
  • Providing key market research, specifically which companies are hiring within our core niche
  • Conducting email marketing campaigns - utilising features such as automation, landing pages, and surveys
  • Engaging with stakeholders - e.g., Prism's partnered marketing agency
  • Curating engaging and insightful content for Prism's blog site, "The Thought Lab"
  • Any other manner of marketing and business development that arises!

About you:

  • Keen interests in marketing, business development, and technology
  • Strong written and verbal English
  • Comfortable in a sales environment (whilst you won't directly be involved in sales, recruitment is a heavily sales focused industry)
  • Able to be flexible
  • Welcomes independent learning and can identify problems and fix them, rather than waiting for the 'next' thing to do

Benefits:

  • A clear pathway for a full-time position within the Prism marketing team, with transparent milestones
  • We are keen to invest in your development - will pay for any relevant courses or training that may be useful
  • Being a small company, you will always have direct access and communication to everyone in the business
  • The opportunity to implement your ideas and take on your own projects
  • Join us on our various company outings, from team lunches/dinners to fun activity days!

This role will have the potential to progress into a Marketing Assistant position on a full-time basis, pending the successful completion of the Kickstart period. So, if you are keen to kickstart your career in marketing and would welcome the opportunity to work in a start-up with a fun and dedicated team, then we would love to hear from you!
