Infrastructure Engineer - Citrix & Windows Server - Famous Co

To be successful in this role you will need to have solid experience with Citrix and Windows, the client has deployed Citrix virtual apps & desktop's 7 therefore proficiency with these tools is crucial.

A world-renowned institution based West London is looking for a Window Sys Admin / Infrastructure Engineer. You will be joining a team of 5 and working within and IT department of circa 20 staff. Your role will be mostly 3rd line, with responsibility of the infrastructure that is supporting up to 3,000 devices and 1,200 end users.

Essential skills for this role are:

  • Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops 7 for provisioning cloud & desktop applications.
  • Windows Server experience across 2012 and 2016 physical & virtualised (circa 300 servers)
  • VMWare - our client is a big VMWare user so it will be ideal if you have exposure to VMWare, but not essential
  • Group Policies - DNS/DHCP

You will have the opportunity to take part in multiple projects depending on your skill set, such as:

  • Migration Projects: Windows Server 2012 R2 -2016 - Windows Server 2019!
  • VMWare - always projects here!
  • New storage platform being implemented
  • Wifi replacement Rollout

Current Environment:

  • 90% of the role involves server work
  • Cloud: Office 365 and Sharepoint aspects
  • PowerShell
  • Intune being implemented
  • SCCM
  • Good knowledge of Windows server, Windows desktop technologies & Active Directory
  • Previous use of ITSM tools and understanding of ITIL processes

Beneficial skills:

  • VMWare - Workstation Pro 12.5 and vSphere 6.5

Main Tasks:

  • Infrastructure activities:
    • Maintaining applications, diagnosing problems and resolving incidents efficiently
    • Testing and monitoring infrastructure changes
    • 2nd and 3rd line support
  • Liaison with IT suppliers with regards to infrastructure problems
  • Support and direct projects that include a change to server services
