We have an exciting opportunity to work at a global business-to-business information services business firm as a MAC Desktop Support engineer. As leaders in providing unique business to business solutions, my client are looking for an engineer skilled the Microsoft 0365 & APPLE suit of products to join a talented team of people in IT, with over 2500 colleagues globally with 170 MAC users.

In this role you will be responsible for maintaining and supporting the organisation's MAC desktop environments and cloud estates, as well as performing 1-3 line support (so everything from password resets to firewall configurations). An additional junior support engineer will be hired in H1 2021 allowing you to focus on more of the technical aspects of this role.

In this role you will be helping to support a partially remote company and have the chance to work on some of the latest technologies in Azure, and APPLE. Alongside support, you will also ensure that the various different departments in the organisation are using APPLE tools and software to the fullest and providing training webinars where applicable.

With over 2,000 employees, they are looking for a Mac administrator with strong endpoint device skills to take ownership of the estate - your role will involve some application build, deployment and troubleshooting as well as developing systems to manage mobile devices.


Principle Responsibilities:

  • Overall ownership of corporate Mac estate
  • Maintaining corporate standard builds for Macs
  • Application packaging and deployment
  • OS & Application troubleshooting
  • macOS performance analysis
  • Developing policies and systems for deploying and managing mobile devices

Person - Key Skills, Qualifications & Experience:

Technical Skills (Essential):

  • Expert knowledge of macOS and iOS
  • Expert knowledge of JAMF Pro or equivalent management platform
  • Expert knowledge of mobile endpoints (iOS and Android)
  • Able to write automation scripts and package applications
  • Understanding of TCP/IP

Technical Skills (Desirable):

  • Knowledge of Microsoft published desktop systems (AVD/RDS).
  • Knowledge of monitoring tools such as Solarwinds
  • Knowledge of Windows Server, AD and Windows desktops
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office365 and Intune
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Azure
  • Knowledge of McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator and associated technologies
  • Understanding of audio/visual systems

Other Skills:

  • Able to take ownership of day-to-day tasks and small projects
  • Able to prioritise activity based on business and department requirements
  • Systematic approach to troubleshooting including root-cause analysis
  • Understanding of ITIL framework and processes

Essential Experience:

  • Experience working in a 3rd line infrastructure team supporting users in a multi-site environment
  • Proven experience using JAMF Pro or equivalent for OS and app deployment
  • Creation and maintenance of technical documentation
