Business Analyst - PAYMENT EXPERIENCE REQUIRED - Financial Services

I have a fantastic opportunity for a Business Analyst to join a really progressive boutique financial services organisation that is undergoing a period of very exciting change with a plethora of interesting projects on the horizon. My client has been an established brand within their niche sector in the FS market for over 40 years now and continue to thrive in this ever-evolving space. With offices across the world and over 500 employees in the business, they are a truly global and recognised brand in the financial sphere.

In this role you will work along side 4 other business analysts and dedicate a lot of your time on the the company's payment systems/processes and how they interact between our client's own internally developed software applications and the end users/customers/Banks and other financial institutions the tie into them. You will be responsible for ensuring that payment system change is planned accordingly and work closely with the IT Programme Manager, development team and stakeholders to meet payment system requirements. Working across the business, you will provide key scoping, tracking, and communication of necessary projects. The right candidate for this role will have a good understanding of the payment lifecycle, as well as messaging.

  1. You MUST have some Payments and Payment format experience of some kind i.e. any of:
  • ISO 20022 PAIN
  • SWIFT FIN MT103/940/942, Local ACH Channels (NACHA, BACS), CAM
  1. You also must have some SQL knowledge - our client are flexible in which type and to what extent.
  2. General bits please:
  • Strong knowledge of IT systems
  • Strong experience with the system development life cycle
  • Strong experience of data mapping and modelling
  • Knowledge of multiple payment formats:

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Flexible and able to work in a highly pressurised environment
  • Able to communicate with stakeholders at all levels, including Board level
  • Good decision making and problem-solving skills
  • Proven ability to work autonomously and as part of a team

Key tasks:

  • Maintain a current documented overview of related projects
  • Work with and support other members of the Business Analyst team
  • Work with stakeholders from all business units as well as third party companies to define and document business processes and software requirements
  • Support business users and management in optimising the scope, benefits and risks of proposed projects
  • Assist the delivery manager in managing resources and assign responsibilities across the team
  • Identify risks, issues and dependencies, log them appropriately and appropriate action to minimise the impact on the project
  • Ensure business requirements are developed and signed off by the business sponsors
  • Compile activity reports for projects to the stakeholders
