Senior DevOps Engineer - AWS -Terrafrom -Ruby -Python -Innovating the Financial Services Industry!

I have an exciting opportunity to join a company who made it onto Great Places to Work UK's Best Workplaces 2020 and who are backed by some of the world's largest financial services companies.

They run a master trust scheme for hundreds of thousands of members, and their investors are household names in the financial world. As part of their rapid growth they are looking to grow their technology team and bring in a Senior DevOps Engineer to own their platform as they dramatically scale their operations.

You will be join a team of 190 working on and building appropriate tooling for development teams & clients. You will be designing & implementing improved data security strategies for their platform and assisting the development team in using these metrics to ensure the reliability of the platform remains excellent across all deployments.

Your career this far will have seen you progress into a Senior DevOps Engineer role where you will have worked in an agile environment and where you will have developed exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and have taken ownership for, the reliability, security and deployment of the system.
If you are a passionate individual who has what it takes to manage, maintain & support the AWS and Heroku environments, as well as reduce manual work (toil) for the technology team -- yourself included! - by implementing appropriate solutions or processes as required, then this could be the role for you!


  • Software Engineering/ development background, or the capacity to do back-end programming and a strong understanding of how code is ran in production.
  • Proven track record of supporting web platforms (e.g. websites or API's) in production at scale.
  • Experience in cloud platforms to upgrade and fix.
  • Experience with AWS, MySQL, and Redis (or similar platforms).
  • Comfortable with command-line tools and environments. Linux experience is essential.
  • Proficient with at least one server-side programming language such as Ruby or Python.
  • Experience with configuration management tools like Terraform or Ansible, and understand their common use cases.
  • Qualities that will be amazing if you have them:
  • Familiarity with Heroku or Heroku-like PaaS.
  • Familiarity with Amazon Aurora.
  • Experience with container deployment platforms like Kubernetes.
  • Experience with Docker & Containerisation.
  • Prior evidence of developing command-line tools.
  • Experience with Serverless technologies e.g. AWS Lambda.
